The certification body may extend the scope (activities stated on the certificate) of the already issued certificate on the basis of the customer's request (form F 02_R Application for extension of the certificate scope).
The extension may be performed as part of a routine supervisory audit or by performing an "extraordinary" supervisory audit, and the extended area must be reviewed against all requirements of the certification standard.
Based on the findings of the audit and a positive decision of the management of the certification body, a new issue of the certificate is issued with an incorporated extension of its scope.
