Building envelope energy labels

The energy label of the building housing according to ČSN 73 0540 provides clear information on the quality of the building housing (or its defined heated part) in terms of its thermal insulation. Similar to the energy performance certificates of buildings, the assessed object is classified in one of the classes A to G, but in this case only on the basis of the resulting value of the average heat transfer coefficient called Uem [W / (m2 · K)]. This is the most basic evaluation of cooled structures at the system boundary of the building. The lower the resulting value of the average heat transfer coefficient Uem, the better the building is thermally insulated and will consume less energy in operation, thus reducing operating costs.
